On a crisp Halloween night, young Ethan set out, dressed as a pirate and ready for adventure.

He walked through a neighborhood glowing with jack-o'-lanterns, his pumpkin bucket swinging in anticipation.

As he neared the last house, a haunting "Howwwwl!" echoed from the woods, sending a chill down his spine.

A large wolf stepped from the shadows, but instead of snarling, it wore a small pumpkin necklace and had gentle, sad eyes.

To Ethan's surprise, the wolf admitted he’d never been given treats—only tricks.

Moved by sympathy, Ethan bravely offered a chocolate bar from his stash.

The wolf’s tail wagged gratefully, and in return, he thanked Ethan for his kindness before disappearing into the night, leaving a trail of glowing paw prints.

Ethan walked home, realizing even the scariest creatures just need a bit of kindness.
